Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Why are DynaFlex winch lines superior to other products ?

A:  We developed our winch lines with chemical, fiber and material engineers specifically for rigorous winching operations and to offer superior performance at all levels with a primary focus on safety, abrasion resistance, heat tolerance and functionality in extreme conditions and environments.

Q:  Is a heat protection sleeve necessary with DynaFlex winch lines ?

A:  No, heat protection is not necessary with our lines. All DynaFlex winch lines have been engineered to withstand extreme temperatures with a minimum heat rating of 625°F and a maximum heat rating of 932°F.

Q:  Can a roller fairlead by used with DynaFlex winch lines ?

A:  No, we highly advise against using a roller fairlead with our winch lines. The DynaFlex lines are so strong and flexible that the line can work its way in between the horizontal and vertical rollers and break the pin within the roller. This would a create a razor sharp edge that could be detrimental to the lines integrity.

Q:  What type of fairlead is recommended for use with DynFlex winch lines ?

A:  We recommend and offer an aluminum fairlead specifically designed for our lines, we utilize increased dimensions to provide even and complete spooling. Other aluminum and steel hawse type fairleads can be used provided they are very smooth, however, they will not allow for even and complete side to side spooling. A synthetic fairlead can be used, however, most have a lower temperature rating than our winch lines, which can be problematic.

Q:  How does the Line Lock™ work ?

A:  Our patented Line Lock™ works by locking five wraps of line to the winch semi-permanently to prevent to users from pulling off to much line and running the risk of the line coming off the drum. The Line Lock™ is so effective that it can be used without the line being attached to the drum with a set screw or bolt. We developed this product to afford users a level of personal and vehicle safety never before seen.
