When it comes to off-road driving and expeditions,
you can't compromise, especially when you’re on the moon or the middle
of a national forest. When you're far away from civilization, you need a
battery that won't fail you, you need an Optima Battery.
Optima Batteries
feature Optima's proprietary Spiracell Technology, a science that
was originally designed the first moon buggy. This is why even
outer-space off-roaders demand Spiracell-based batteries:
Traditional
batteries consist of lead plates surrounded by acid, but Optima
batteries consist of two thin lead plates wound into a tight spiral
cell, with an absorbent glass-mat in between to hold the electrolyte
solution. This provides more surface area and evenly distributes
pressure over the entire lead surface allowing for three times the
normal lifespan than conventional batteries. These batteries can
also sit for three times the time of a conventional battery without
charging.
An additional
factor behind the extended lifespan of an Optima battery is the
design’s heat resistance. Optima battery is not shortened by
overheating. When a conventional battery heats up under extreme
off-road conditions, the resulting acid density seriously decreases
battery life.
The larger lead
surface area also allows for quicker recharging than conventional
batteries.
The outer
construction of Optima batteries is completely sealed. You never
need to add water and because there are no flowing electrolytes, no
corrosion can form on the posts. This system is completely welded
together and will not alter power output during rough roads,
collisions, or sudden temperature changes. Optima batteries are 15
times more resistant to vibration than other batteries. |
