Turac Automotive
Accessories was born in late 2004 when Yalcin Hocaoglu and his
friend Baris, both of Istanbul, Turkey, decided they knew better
than anyone else how to make sexy, sleek sidesteps for late model
Land Rover vehicles, including the New Range Rover, Range Rover
Sport, the LR3, the Freelander, and Discovery. So after a few cans
of Efes Pilsen and a few bottles of Corona, Yalcin and Baris founded
Turac Automotive Accessories.
Yalcin is a former
Ford product development engineer who worked intensively with
interior and exterior plastics on projects in the UK and Turkey.
Baris also worked for Ford as a mechanical engineer and later for
Land Rover. Sticking to they roots, all of Turac’s premium
accessories are manufactured to Ford quality standards.
Turac’s premium
aluminum sidesteps and mounting brackets are salt spray tested up to
1000 hours, which means they will outlast the chassis of your Land
Rover. Yalcin and his Istanbul crew create the Turac sidesteps with
Matte satin anodized extruded aluminum that is later molded with a
rubber topping and fitted with injection molded endcaps. Unlike
other sidestep manufacturers, Turac designed their stepsides so that
no hardware is visible from anywhere on the step or its endcaps.
All of Turac’s
aluminum and metal components are subjected to the cathodic
immersion process to enhance durability and coating. Later, a
polyesther-based electrostatic powder coating is applied that no
only resists corrosion, but also creates a gripping surface for
traction. All mounting hardware and brackets are included.
